Les Canadiens perdent confiance dans la capacité du gouvernement fédéral et des gouvernements provinciaux de s’occuper d’enjeux clés comme les soins de santé, les changements climatiques, l’immigration ou l’économie.
Depuis 2019, les sondages annuels de la Confédération de demain ont demandé aux répondants à quel gouvernement les Canadiens font davantage confiance pour prendre les bonnes décisions dans différents domaines stratégiques. Un nombre croissant de Canadiens disent qu’ils ne font confiance à aucun des deux ordres de gouvernement pour régler ces questions clés. Cette tendance est évidente dans toutes les régions du pays.
Le sondage montre que les proportions de répondants faisant davantage confiance au gouvernement fédéral ou faisant confiance aux deux ordres de gouvernement ont diminué. Malgré cela, il n’y a pas eu d’augmentation de la proportion de ceux qui font davantage confiance aux gouvernements provinciaux. Autrement dit, au fil du temps, les Canadiens n’ont pas transféré leur confiance du gouvernement fédéral à leur gouvernement provincial.

Abstract
Canadians are losing trust in the ability of both the federal government and their provincial governments to deal with key issues such as health care, climate change, immigration or the economy.
Since 2019, the annual Confederation of Tomorrow surveys have asked which government Canadians trust more to make the right decisions in different policy areas. A growing number of Canadians say they trust neither level of government to address these key issues. This pattern is evident across all regions of the country.
The survey shows that the proportions trusting the federal government more, or trusting both levels of government equally, have declined. Despite this, there has been no increase in the proportion trusting their provincial governments more. In other words, Canadians have not shifted their trust over time from the federal government to their provincial government.
